Remarks & Notes
'Tornado', Britain's brand new 'A1' class Pacific was ceremoniously named at York by his Royal Highness, Prince Charles the Prince of Wales. The Royal Train then traveled the 30 miles to Leeds, hauled by the newly named locomotive. On the return leg, 'Tornado' thunders up the grade from Garforth. Such duties are entirely befitting this majestic piece of 21st century engineering.
