Longtime NWI-NRHS (Rockford, IL.) member Gerald Van Alstyne rode a Chicago to Springfield roundtrip the chapter sponsored prior to startup of Amtrak service. The group rode to Springfield on the GM&O from Chicago, and returned on the IC. After arrival from Chicago, this view was recorded of The Limited, train #1.
