| With 82 loads of northbound freight in tow, The Spirit of Alaska has just traversed the 2.5 mile Anton Anderson Memorial Tunnel from Whittier and crosses the scenic Placer Creek trestle. The train has another six miles to go on the Whittier Branch to Portage Jct., where it will join the mainline for the last 50 miles of the run to Anchorage. |
