| On a quiet Sunday afternoon a pair of ARR GP40s repose on the back shop lead amid the clutter of spare locomotive parts. The ARR shop has full rebuild capabilities and still does much work in house due to the challenges of being isolated from the rest of the North American rail network (except by barge). The distance and cost precludes it from taking advantage of the many contract rebuild shops employed by other shortlines and regionals. |
