Remarks & Notes
Coal mining railways often had extensive railway systems. One such was the Lambton, Hetton & Joicey Collieries in County Durham, a collection of some twenty separate mines. Their locomotive fleet having its own unique appearance becoming known as 'Lambton' tanks. Two survive on the NYMR and No.29 is currently in traffic in LHJC livery. The last steam photo I took in the old millenium shows her entering Pickering bathed in soft and warm evening light.
