Remarks & Notes |
The CN's eight track barge from Prince Rupert is moored to the ARR's barge slip at the port of Whittier and is in the process of being unloaded. The ARR crew can be seen standing on the deck of the barge as an empty flat car used as a "handle" is coupled to the first cut. The water is calm on this rare clear day on the shores of Prince William Sound. This barge service is operated by the CN and Whittier is considered the interchange point between the two roads. It carries an everage of 45 railcars per voyage and arrives every 10 days. |
