This old mile marker, section of track, and commemorative sign on the former Pennsylvania Railroad Belvidere & Delaware (Bel-Del) Division are very little of what remains of the railroad through Stockton. The line once ran from New Jersey's capital city of Trenton (twenty one miles south of this location) to the interchange with the Delaware, Lackawanna & Western's old Main Line at Manunka Chunk in Warren County (forty seven miles north of this location). Conrail abandoned the Bel-Del line and removed tracks in 1980. The right of way is now a walking trail, known as the Delaware & Raritan Canal State Park because of the adjacent waterway.
