| Gateway Western started the tradition on this route with a GP38-2 and a few of the Christmas themed cars still used. KCS 1 slows in Sherman siding to cut off and prepare for a shove to Godfrey, some 8 miles south. This is the first year KCS has opted not to use the south switch at Godfrey (a leftover from the original Alton main) to run around the train. |
