With her New York Central cigar band peeking through, a Conrail/NJDOT E8A leads ex Great Northern and Santa Fe cars over Dock Bridge at the Passaic River. #4324 was delivered to New York Central as their #4079 (Class DPA-5E) on 7/1953. It was traded to ICG in 1978 in a rebuild swap in which a "new" #4324 came back, but wasn't this unit. This one was scrapped in 1981. 5300 series trains, like this, were ex-CNJ and usually had GP40Ps, so getting the E units on it was a treat.
