After decades and decades of watching their collection rust away due to neglect, the Travel Town Museum in Griffith Park was benifited by two events. The passage of Proposition A; The Los Angeles County Safe Neighborhood Parks Act, and the discovery of lead in the peeling paint. The engines and cars were repainted and a train shed was built to protect many of them. It looks remarkably authentic, and walking the platforms inside, you feel as if you are at a mid-sized city's depot in the 1930s.
