Remarks & Notes
Battling tonnage and a stiff wind, CN 5786, 5381 and 5341 haul 305's train through the sag at Newtonville, Ontario, on a picture perfect autumn day. Three units in three paint schemes provide a study in CN motive power philosophy over the years. The SD75I represents post privatization renewal of the fleet. The SD40-2 represents the pre-privatization belt tightening, being aquired secondhand (ex. UP/MP). Finally, the SD40-2W represents classic CN as a Crown Corporation, innovative and not your typical off the shelf locomotive. 1416hrs.
