Pennsylvania Railroad #1361 was built in 1918 at the Altoona Works. The locomotive was retired in 1956. it spent many years on static display at the Horseshoe Curve. In 1987, the locomotive returned to operating condition but was sidelined after only a year and a half due to mechanical problems. 1361 is owned by and resides at the Altoona Railroader's Memorial Museum. As of May of 2018, Bennett Levin and Wick Moorman have started a private fund in order to restore the locomotive to steam. This will require a lot of time, work, and money, but 1361 has a chance of seeing the mainline again.
